Tulip & Storm's Litter – One Week Birthday!

One Week Old Already!

It's hard to believe an entire week has already flown by! Tulip and her seven little puppies are all doing wonderfully, and each day brings exciting new milestones.

We've now set up our 24/7 puppy camera, allowing all of our puppy families to follow their journey and watch these little ones grow from the comfort of home. It's amazing how much changes in just a few days!

Tulip continues to be an exceptional mother. She spends most of her day devoted to her puppies—feeding, cleaning, and cuddling them—but she's also beginning to enjoy a little well-deserved "mom time" outside the whelping box. As the puppies become more content between feedings, Tulip is taking short breaks to stretch her legs, enjoy a meal, and recharge before heading back to her little family.

To support milk production, Tulip's food intake has increased dramatically. She is now eating approximately 60 ounces of fresh food each day, divided into four meals. Her body is working incredibly hard, and she's doing an amazing job keeping seven hungry puppies well-fed.

The puppies are thriving and gaining weight every single day. By tomorrow or Sunday, each of them is expected to have doubled their birth weight—an important milestone and a wonderful indication that everyone is healthy and growing as they should.

For now, Tulip and the puppies are comfortably settled in our bedroom, where we can keep a close eye on them throughout the day and night while also giving them a quiet space away from the rest of the pack.

In just a couple of weeks, everything becomes even more exciting! Around three weeks of age, Tulip and the puppies will move into our living room, complete with direct access to their own private outdoor yard. This is also when we'll begin introducing the puppies to solid food. By four to five weeks of age, weather permitting, they'll venture outdoors for the very first time to explore the sights, sounds, and smells of the world beyond the whelping box.

As for our "Traveler's Litter," they've been surprisingly content to stay put this week... well, almost! Mr. Rocky Road - brown collar has already proven himself to be the early adventurer of the group. Somehow, he managed to climb over Mom in an effort to discover what lies beyond his tiny world. We have a feeling he's giving us a little glimpse of his adventurous personality already!

The adventure is just beginning, and we can't wait to share every milestone with you.

Stay tuned... there's so much more to come!

A Big Week for Dutch and Fiona's Puppies!

Two weeks old today! Fiona's puppies are now two weeks old, and what an exciting stage this is! Every day brings new changes as the puppies grow stronger, more aware, and even more adorable (if that’s possible). At this age, the biggest milestone is that their eyes are now open! Though their vision is still a bit blurry, they’re beginning to see the world for the first time — mostly shapes, light, and movement. Over the next week, their eyesight will continue to sharpen, and they’ll start recognizing their littermates, their mom, and of course, us humans. The puppies are also becoming more mobile. Their wobbly little legs are gaining strength as they start to scoot, crawl, and even attempt to stand. It’s amazing to watch how quickly they go from tiny, sleepy newborns to curious explorers. Fiona is doing a wonderful job keeping everyone clean, warm, and fed. Although she doesn't have the milk supply we hoped for, we are supplementing by bottle feeding at least once daily.  The p...

Dutch and Fiona’s Puppies – One Week Old Today!

Happy One Week Birthday!   Fiona’s journey into motherhood has been nothing short of remarkable. After a long and exhausting  14-hour labour , she safely delivered  12 beautiful puppies . As the final hours stretched on, both Fiona and I were completely spent. Sadly, the last few pups became our little angels due to the extended delivery time. Despite every effort — providing oxygen and stimulation — we were unable to revive them. As heartbreaking as that was, we are deeply grateful to have  nine strong, healthy puppies  now thriving under Fiona’s care. This first week has brought its share of challenges. Fiona developed  metritis , a uterine infection likely caused by the strain of her prolonged labour. She has been on antibiotics and is recovering well, but the infection initially impacted her milk production. To ensure the pups received the nutrition they needed, we began  bottle feeding every 2–3 hours around the clock . Thankfully, the puppies ada...
