Three Weeks of Growing, Exploring, and Playing!
It's hard to believe our Traveler's Litter is already three weeks old! This week has brought another exciting milestone as the puppies are beginning to walk with much more confidence and are starting to interact with one another. Watching them discover their siblings, play, and explore their surroundings is both entertaining and heartwarming. Their unique little personalities are beginning to shine through a little more each day but don't really emerge until 6.5 weeks of age.
Tulip continues to be an exceptional mother. She still spends much of her day caring for and cleaning her puppies, but she's also beginning to ask for a little well-deserved "mom time." As soon as she heads outside, she races around the backyard, joyfully rolling in the grass before happily settling down with one of her favourite treats—a bully stick. She enjoys every minute of her little break... for about two minutes! Then she's back at the door, eager to return inside to check on her babies.
When she's ready for a slightly longer break, Tulip enjoys finishing her bully stick on our bed, where she has the perfect bird's-eye view of the whelping box. Even during her quiet moments, she's never far from keeping a watchful eye on her little family.
As we mentioned previously, this weekend marks another exciting transition. Tulip and the puppies are moving from our bedroom into their spacious puppy area in the living room. The slightly larger play area will give them plenty of room to explore, strengthen their legs, and continue developing their coordination.
Over the next week, we'll begin introducing their first solid meals as they become steadier on their feet. They'll also be introduced to a variety of toys, and an interactive play area designed to encourage confidence, curiosity, and healthy development.
The puppies are now weighing approximately 4 pounds each, and they're growing quickly! By the time they leave for their forever homes at eight weeks of age, they'll likely weigh around 15 pounds and will be well on their way to becoming confident, happy Golden Retrievers.
Every week brings new adventures, new discoveries, and plenty of smiles. We can't wait to share the next chapter with you!
Stay tuned… the fun is just beginning!
